Paint on my hands

So today I have been painting the hall to minimise the pink. So far I have done one wall and up the stairs although I do have a couple of other smaller walls to do. I have also managed to pick up a coat hook so will get that put up soon. We also picked out three tester paint pots for the bedroom to go with my walllpaper which is a midnight blue. I have decided I think the one above which is called silver mist. Will need to get a bigger pot and get cracking. So that's me done for the day - it really takes it out of you painting!!!

Getting ready for Christmas

So we are trying to get organised for Christmas, and as you can see I have put out our wreath but we haven't got a Christmas tree - not sure it's a good idea with the cat around as it is likely to be attacked!

I have added a picture of the hall - I am in the process of painting the hall brown to tone down the pinkness of it all - let me know what you think! I am thinking of getting a standing lamp to also go into the hall to come on with a timer so in these dark months when we arrive home there should be a bit of light but without having the hall light on all day. Next to get are some coat hooks but its just a question of finding some nice simple ones. I keep seeing very elaborate hooks and all I want is simple silver plain five hooks - how hard is that!!!

Smells a bit fishy to me!

So today's task was to walk to the station and time how long it takes. Overall it took 30 minutes but we think once we get used to the route we should be able to shave off a few minutes. After getting to the station, we took a walk down the "sea" front and walking past all the fish shacks where they receive the fish that has come in that morning. There was this lovely salty sea air and the fish smell. There are a couple of pubs along the front which I may have to pay a visit to and also a couple of fish restaurants.

Unfortunately I forgot to take the camera out with me, but have a couple of pictures on my phone so if I can fiigure out how to up load them I shall add them on, otherwise I will have to make another trip.

After that we then went for a stroll into the old town and had a look at the quaint little shops. I can see me spending lots of money in this place. There was a slight problem - the steep hills. Oh my, how my legs and butt ache now!!!! Still at least it will keep me fit!

As far as the house goes, we have bought some curtains, wardrobes, dinning table and some paint. We will try this on one of the walls in the hall to see how it looks. Will keep you posted.

Finally here!!!

Well, it took 3 trips but we eventually managed to get all our stuff from the old flat to our new house. Big thanks out to Wayne who was an absolue star and without whose help we would probably still be shifting boxes today. In the end we decided to sedate Arwen which was rather amusing, she was walking around like she had had 10 pints! Still it was for the better for her as it was a rather stressful day and she would have become even more upset by it all. Once we were in and Wayne, mum & dad had left, we had a visit from Rob, Vicky and the kids (Allannah and Freya). They bought us pizza and champers, which was gratefully received as we had not eaten all day, and after they had left we just fell into bed and slept. Yesterday was a leisurely day unpacking the majority of the stuff and then headed off to find a supermarket and get some food in and just releax. Today, more unpacking but now the front room & kitchen are free of boxes. Keith has arranged his little den to how he wants it so the only rooms left are the spare room and our bedroom. Until we get a wardrobe etc then I think we will be living with boxes for a short time yet, however, we are planning on a trip to Ikea tomorrrow so who knows! Just for Rachael, here are some pictures of the garden for you to mull over and think about what plants would be best!!!
